Exciting experiences and extraordinary adventures await as you cruise from Australia to Asia with Princess. Discover the mystical beauty, ancient traditions, lush tropical forests, beautiful beaches, mythological legends and tranquil retreats on your way through Papua New Guinea, Philippines and Japan.

Itinerary Highlights:

Alotau (Milne Bay), Papua New Guinea

Welcome to an undiscovered paradise of white-sand beaches, crystal waterfalls and volcanic mountains. And if you've come for history, you'll find that, too. This peaceful town was the site of fierce fighting during World War II. Today, it's a peaceful retreat offering the vacationer plenty of time to relax and connect with nature. Beyond the city you'll find a tropical rainforest full of birds of paradise and a laid-back ease worth discovering.

Conflict Islands, Papua New Guinea

The word conflict may conjure up images of struggle and discontent, but this group of 21 islands encircling an enormous lagoon on the rim of a sunken volcano is an undiscovered Shangri-La. Named after their discovery in 1886 by HMS naval survey ship The Conflict, the islands were purchased by Australian businessman Ian Gowrie-Smith in 2003 whose goal is to preserve and protect this pristine ecosystem. Sheltered by an untouched reef system, the island is abundant with marine life and perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. Whether you prefer activities fast and furious or slow and steady, you're sure to find paradise. What more could you wish for in an island destination?

Manila, Philippines

Manila is the pearl of the Philippines, a vast archipelago of over 7,000 islands and 60 million people. Here a mix of Malay, Chinese, American, Spanish and Arab influences created one of the most diverse and colorful societies in the world. At the heart of this unique culture lies bayanihan, the Filipinos' extraordinary spirit of national kinship. The Philippines are also a place of extraordinary physical beauty, from Manila's Intramuros district with its old colonial architecture to the tropical countryside with its forest, waterfalls, and volcanoes.

Kagoshima, Japan

From the 12th century to the Meiji Restoration of 1868, Kagoshima was the chief stronghold of the mighty Shimazu clan. The city lies at the top of the Satsuma Peninsula, a mountainous, geothermal wonderland of hot springs and geysers. The area is also rich in modern Japanese history: Saigo Takamori and the Satsuma samurai were leaders of the Meiji Restoration that toppled the shogun and restored the Emperor to power in 1868. In 1877, dissatisfied with the direction of the new government, Saigo led the Satsuma Rebellion, which ended in his death and the final defeat of the samurai. The symbol of Kagoshima is Sakura Jima - the volcanic island that sits just offshore. The volcano has erupted over 30 times in recorded history.

Shimizu (for Mt. Fuji), Japan

A mesmerizing landscape, a revered cultural history, and Japan's most sacred volcano are just a few of the many delights beckoning you to come and explore this ancient city. While Shimizu may have the reputation as being bustling and modern, its cultural and spiritual side is on display in the form of ancient and enthralling shrines. Of course, it may be the sacred and snow-capped Mount Fuji that garners the most attention. Towering over the region at approximately 12,388 feet above sea level, the active volcano, designated a "place and source of artistic inspiration" by UNESCO is just one of the many unforgettable adventures Shimizu inspires.
