For the bucket-list-topping holiday of a lifetime, nothing can compare to a transpacific cruise onboard Royal Caribbean®. With sailings to and from Australia and New Zealand, paradisiacal ports of call are on the itinerary – unforgettable destinations such as Papeete, Moorea and Raiatea. Soak up the stunning beaches of French Polynesia, where the aquamarine waters are too beautiful to believe. Shop for black pearls in Tahiti, roaming the bustling Papeete Market. Immerse yourself in Maori traditions in New Zealand and climb the sacred site of Mount Eden. From horseback riding on secluded beachfront trails to snorkelling with rainbow-coloured fish, adventure in all its best forms awaits.

Papeete is the lively capital of Tahiti – a figure-eight-shaped island formed by the eruption of two volcanoes, it's become a go-to spot for tropical adventure. A bustling urban centre, Papeete feels more French than anywhere else in Tahiti. Head to the centre of the city to see the vibrant Municipal Market, where you can pick up coffee and chocolate croissants, sample fresh produce or shop for hand-carved Tiki statues. See the waves crash against the volcanic black-sand beach at Plage du Taharuu. Cruise to Tahiti and hike through the verdant jungle at Fautaua Valley – don't miss the dramatic waterfall that cascades about 300 metres down into a natural pool.

Moorea is the picture-perfect vision of an ideal island paradise. Formed by volcanic activity, this heart-shaped island hidden a few short miles off the Tahiti mainland holds beaches that look out to the brightest blue waters you can imagine, and the soaring green peaks of the mountains here are the stuff of legend. Head to Tiki Village to experience a traditional Polynesian dance. Hike up to Belvedere Lookout for views of famous Cook's Bay and volcanic Mount Tohivea. Go snorkelling in the lagoon at Opunohu Bay, or check out the Moorea Dolphin Center to get up-close-and-personal with nature's cutest, most intelligent sea creatures.

Honolulu packs a diverse culture and a laid-back attitude into a setting rich with beauty. Visit Pearl Harbour and tour Iolani Palace – the only former residence of a royal family in the US – to delve deeper into the Hawaiian capital's unique history. Snorkel Hanauma Bay or hike the iconic Diamond Head volcano to get up close and personal with the natural wonders that keep people coming back year after year. If time allows during your Honolulu cruise, head to nearby Waikiki for a surf; the calm waters are perfect for any experience level.

Na Pali means 'high cliffs' in Hawaiian, and as you cruise past the Napali Coast, you'll understand exactly why it got its name. Passing by, you'll see the sheer magnitude of the shoreline's steep cliffs that rise as high as 1,219 metres above the ocean below. These rugged headlands make up a state park, known as Napali Coast State Park. You can find these on the northwest of Kauai, stretching 16 miles along the turquoise coastline. Start your Hawaii cruise holiday and experience the awe of nature through this rare, prehistoric landscape, keeping an eye out for cascading waterfalls, mysterious sea caves and lush green valleys.

Located on Hawaii Island's beautiful western shore, Kailua Kona is known for its calm, clear waters that offer the perfect playground for ocean adventure. Take the 25-minute drive north to Manini'owali Beach to swim or snorkel in the ultra-blue waves alongside dolphins and sea turtles. Often referred to simply as Kona, the area is also a place of deep historical significance. Cruise to Kailua Kona and check out Kaloko-Honokahau National Historical Park, a Hawaiian Heritage Site where you'll encounter early temples, ancient petroglyphs and traditional fishponds.

In Hilo, you'll discover a small, quiet town on Hawaii Island's windward side. The vibe here is definitively Old Hawaii. Cruise to Hilo and explore the city centre, with centuries-old storefronts and galleries where locals sell their paintings, jewellery and pottery. Pop into the Lyman Museum, where you can uncover the history of Hawaii's volcanoes. Then, head a few miles north to 'Akaka Falls State Park, where you can hike among the lush greenery to catch a glimpse of waterfalls. See the lava shores of Carlsmith Beach Park, and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. Later, walk among mango trees at Hawaii Tropical Botanical Park, or cool off with a locally brewed beer at Mehana Brewing Company.

Seattle is a young city, but it's short history is part of the landscape and charm. Cruise to Seattle and check out the Hiram Chittenden Locks in the Ballard neighbourhood – this impressive feat of engineering passed its first ship through in 1916, and today, it's one of the busiest lock systems in the US. Then, stroll through the nearby Carl S. English Jr Botanical Gardens – an English-style landscape garden with over 1,500 varieties of plants. Or head to Gas Works Park, on the grounds of the former Seattle Gas Light Company: this former business is now a prime vantage point to view the Seattle skyline. And don't miss the famous Space Needle: from the top, you can take in clear views of the bay, the Cascade Mountains and Mount Rainier.
